- Scaleable server solution
for shared central media storage.
- Automatic backup System with “Human Error Protection”
feature.
A combination of streaming and file syncing
techniques provides the KM Media Production Server with an
amazing track recording and playback capacity.
Shared Central Media Storage
All project and media files will at all time exist on the
Media Production Server’s central storage. That means
that all projects can be immediately accessed from any server
connected workstation.
This allows for an extremely efficient work flow. It eliminates
all time consuming manual file copying, disk transfers, backup
copying etc. File management becomes much easier, as the project
files always exist at the same place. And you don’t
end up with different versions of the same project, wondering
which one is the latest version.
The KM Media Production Server lets you focus
on your creative work. The Server System takes care of the
rest. The servers are manufactured of high quality hardware,
incorporating redundant disk arrays, redundant cooling systems
and redundant power supplies for minimal risk of downtime.

| Automatic
Backup system
The KM Media Production Server is accompanied
by the KM Automatic Backup Server. All your valuable data
on the Media Production Server is automatically copied to
the Backup Server every hour (or at any other chosen interval).
Each backup process creates a folder labeled with the date
and time of the backup process. Any user can whenever he/she
want click on any of the stored backup folders, and find all
files that existed on the Media Production Server at the time
of that folders backup.
The user has immediate access to the
backup files. No time-consuming restore process is needed
like with tape backups. No help from a system administrator
is needed. Any user can at any time find and restore files
from the backup server. This means that the backup system
even protects you against the human error, which actually
is the most common reason to lost data.

|
- Scheduled automatic backups
- ”Human Error Protection” feature
- Simple restore

|
| MPS Sync The MPS Sync is the
software that has to be installed on each workstation connected
to the server. MPS Sync takes care of all file syncing between
the workstations and the server. It also includes settings
for which files should be file synced and which files should
be played back in real time. These settings can be stored
as presets.
MPS Sync also locks the actual project, so that no one else
can open it while you are working on it. This prevents from
overwritten data by mistake.
|
|
- Optimizes server communication for different application
software.
- User Presets can easily be created.
- Prohibits two users from working on the same
project by mistake.
- Mac OSX and Win XP versions.
|
|
| Reliability The servers use
Linux OS for highest stability. Redundant disk arrays, redundant
power supplies, redundant fans, optional complete server redundancy
guaranties for lowest possible risk for down time.
The Automatic Backup with Kept History takes care of backup
needs. It's all automatic so you don't have to worry about
it. It's a disk-to-disk backup that lets any user restore
any file at any time. No need for calling a System Administrator.
There is no waiting time for a tape backup restore procedure.
The Kept History function means that you can find exactly
what was on your Media Production Server at any given time.
The Automatic Backup saves a folder for each backup, labeled
with date and time, containing everything that existed on
the server at that time. If you know that your missing files
existed 10 am three months ago, just find the folder by checking
the date and time. And you will find your files.
This means that the backup system even protects you against
the human error, which actually is the most common reason
to lost files.
The storage safety can be further enhanced by separate the
Backup Server room from the Main server room. If the two rooms
are in different buildings it will be even better. This will
improve file protection against major disasters like water-
and fire-accidents.

| Simplicity The user does not
have to think about file transfers between different workstations
or making backup copies.
There is no complicated administrational software like on
SAN systems that you have to learn and take care about.
The user will feel like working on a local workstation. And
he/she can choose to work from any workstation attached to
the Media Production Server and still have immediate access
to all media files.
If some files should be accidentally deleted or corrupted,
the original files are easily found on the backup storage
and restored by drag and drop.
Changes in a client’s network set up that requires
changes in the servers’ main configuration set up can
on request be handled remotely from KM.

Capacity The Media Production
Server has no limitations on how many audio tracks or video
streams that can be recorded or played back at the same time.
The recording and playback limitations are set by your workstations.
The storage capacity is scaleable.
Each Media Production Server can store up to 10 TB. Any number
of servers can be linked together to further increase the
storage capacity.
You can let your server system grow with your needs.
